Beginning Stages

Just starting to develop an app for the iphone for marching percussion instruments. Goal is to have each of the battery represented: snares, tenors, basses (no plates for now). My good friend Dwight has already hooked me up with some sweets samples of the line. I am trying to figure out the actual software. I have sounds playing when you tap but would like a sensitivity setting that just isn't there; so, I am still trying to figure out how to get taps and accents.

  1. I'm looking to start composing drumline music again. Planning to use existing open source sequencing and composition tools, and I'll write code if I need to, but finding good samples is one of my hang-ups.

    I see a friend of yours supplied you with drumline samples. Would he be interested in sharing them or selling them?     What format are you looking for? My samples are in wav. how does that play with what you are doing?
